We had a fairly uneventful but good day.  Had a visit from my sweet friend Kimberley this morning after a fairly calm drop-off at school for Tatum.  Wyatt slept most of the morning so not much to report there!

Had lunch with one of my coworkers and that was really awesome too!  I really miss chatting with her daily.  It was really nice to get out a little on my own today with Mr. Wyatt and have some adult time.  =)

This evening went fairly smooth as well!  Alli was here helping out so I was able to get dinner ready without crisis.  =)  Bath and bedtime went fine, and now it’s almost 9:30 and my rear is ready for bed!  =)

Night all!

Whew, somehow this entire day is done and I haven’t accomplished much of anything besides keeping both kids alive, a few loads of laundry, and organizing a few bills from Wyatt’s birth and my Pars Planitis stuff.  Where does the day go??  Maybe it was that 2.5 hour nap I snuck in while he was sleeping earlier.  *grin*

Wyatt is doing MUCH better with the old formula and I credit the probiotic, even though I just started it yesterday.  He’s not straining to poop and he seems 100% more comfortable.  The only time he gets super pissed is when he’s ready to eat and I can’t get his bottle ready fast enough.  Even though Wade is skeptical about the probiotic if it seems to be working it’s awesome in my book. =)

He was pretty peaceful all day and it seems like we’re headed into a fairly decent night, hope I don’t jinx it!

Tatum had a much better drop off at school too!  She was only a little clingy, and pretty much sat right down at a table with Avery to work on a puzzle.  It was “Kona Ice” day today, so when I told her Kona couldn’t come while mommy was there she said “OH, BYE Mommy” and waved and blew me a kiss.  I’ll totally take it.  LOL!

I’m constantly amazed about how much laundry and dish washing having two little ones requires.  Seriously, I though Wade was bad with the laundry, but these two??  I mean, Wyatt weighs less than 8lbs at this point, how CAN he go through that much stuff?  And why do we use so many towels?  The modern household mysteries that may never be explained.

Picked Tatum up from school to go to her ENT recheck which went really well. She spotted a photo of an old guy in Time Magazine in the waiting room and proclaimed loudly “That’s NOT my Granddaddy!”  I asked her how she knew and she told me “This guy has HAIR, Granddaddy doesn’t have any hair!”  *Snork* Tell it like it is kid. =)

On the way home, we were sitting at a stoplight and I looked back and her to ask her a question and she was LICKING THE BOTTOM OF HER SHOE.  That’s right. She had pulled her leg ALL the way up to her face and was doing the unspeakable.  I about died on the spot.  Why are toddlers so dang nasty???  For real, WHO LICKS A SHOE???  Gah!!!

When we got home the boys were peacefully sleeping – these kiddos love their Granddaddy for sure!  We went out to dinner for Granddaddy’s impending birthday on Friday and Tatum was a total nut.

Things I never thought I’d say in my lifetime:

1- Stop licking all the butter off your bread.

2- Stop licking the butter out of the bowl.

3- For God’s Sake, Tatum, STOP LICKING THE BUTTER.

4- Stop licking the ketchup off your fries.

5- Fries are not a delivery system for ketchup, Tatum.

6- Stop stabbing the bread with a crayon.

This little girl at dinner right here was almost enough for me to ask the waiter to replace my sweet tea with a strong, tall, Long Island Iced Tea.  I don’t think anyone would have judged me…. not much anyway!

Nothing says a good toddler nighttime like chocolate Nothing Bundt Cake before dinner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDDADDY!!!

A PS to 7-18-17

OMG y’all, only 8:30pm and we’ve had SIX poopy diapers today, SIXXXXX.

For real, complete 180 degrees.

Oh yeah, and for my first ever day of picking up Tatum at daycare with Wyatt by myself, I put him in his car seat to leave and he promptly projectile spit-up ALL OVER himself and ALL OVER the car set.

Welcome to Mommyhood, Y’all.  Shiz just got real. =/

He sure is cute though…

We’re full into mommying over here in good ol’ Murphy, TX this morning!

Tatum got up at 7am this morning, which would be fine except I’m completely exhausted from night feedings and trying to figure out Wyatt’s poor tummy issues.  I cheated by letting her watch The Little Mermaid in my bed while I laid there for just a tad bit longer with my eyes closed while Wyatt snoozed in his bassinet.  If I had a dollar for every time I’ve seen The Little Mermaid or Frozen I don’t think either Wade or I would ever have to work again!

Mom was nice enough to come watch Wyatt for a few while I dropped Tatum off at daycare.  Ms. Sylvia was out yesterday and so drop-off was absolutely horrendous, but she was back today and it went SO much better.  I can not figure out her resistance to daycare drop-off.  I had thought it was just a phase, but this “phase” seems to be lasting over a year.  I know she enjoys it there because she never wants to leave in the evenings, but who knows.  Maybe it’s just being an almost threenager.

Wyatt seems to be doing a tad bit better since we switched his formula (again).  We had switched him to Similac Total Comfort thinking it might go a little easier on his stomach than the pro-advance but all it really did was back him up for days and make him really uncomfortable.  So much for the “total comfort”…  Switched him back to Similac Pro-Advance at the midnight feeding Sunday night/Monday morning and now we’re pulling a total 180 to an opposite problem of pooping a LOT!  It’s kind of loose, but his discomfort seems less…  I think I’m going to try adding a probiotic to his bottle once a day and see if that kind of helps set him straight.  I really don’t want him to end up on Alimentum like Tatum was if we can help it.

Speaking of poops, just had two blowouts back to back.  Motherhood is living the dream, isn’t it?  LOL!

Finally got some crafting done this morning.  I need to get on the stick if I’m going to have enough inventory to get my booth at Lonestar Mercantile ready by the open date of August 14.  It’s been really hard doing this with the Pars Planitis diagnosis and ensuing partial blindness but with the hardcore steroids I’m on it’s slowly starting to get better.  I had my bloodwork yesterday to try to determine the cause so let’s keep fingers crossed they don’t find anything crazy.  Pars Planitis is crazy enough…  At least I can see well enough to drive now and am no longer housebound.  Yay!

My mommy adventure this morning was right after I got home from dropping off Tatum.  I wasn’t sure why her Elsa shoes were in the garage and not her room but didn’t really think anything of it so I put them on her on the couch in the living room and then we walked from there to the garage to get in the car.  When I got back from dropping her off, my mom informed me there was blue stuff all over my carpet.  WTH?  All of a sudden I realized she must have had PAINT from the play place we went to Saturday ALL over her shoes, and she tracked it ALL OVER THE HOUSE.  Thank god it was washable paint, but I spent the morning basically scrubbing my entire living room/dining room carpet with a rag, water, and soap.  All in the day of a stay-at-home-mom right?  I told Wade that was my domestic task for the day completed. =)

It’s time for both me and the littlest midget to take a nap, so hopefully no more adventures this afternoon for a bit!  =)  Adios!

First Time for Everything

Since this will be my first post, I’ll go ahead and post my “About Me” from the about page as an introduction, since probably no one is reading this anyway *grin*

Mom, Wife, Crafter, Household Manager, Cat Puke Picker Upper, Gardener, Home Chef, and General Doer of All Things.

I have to say when I started my adult life long ago, I was FIRM on the fact that I would NEVER have kids.

Fast forward to my 30’s, and now I have two (planned LOL) beautiful children, a wonderful and hardworking hubby, a comfortable and welcoming home, a crafting hobby, and so many other blessings.

Had you told me 10 years ago I’d be starting a Mommy Blog, I’d have laughed in your face.  I was writing about dog agility and other dog sports, all things horses, and our crazy vacations, but never thought I’d be writing about poop explosions, whether washable paint really DOES wash out, or wrestling a headstrong toddler to the floor just to get some antibiotic in her mouth then spit back out all over me.  I never thought I’d be worrying about formula, or getting a 3 year old to eat real food, or postpartum medical issues.  It just goes to show you that sometimes you don’t really know the path you’re supposed to be on, but somehow most people make it there anyway.

This blog will follow me on my new journey, as I embark on the daunting adventure of becoming a first time “Stay-at-Home-Mom” and the trials, tribulations, and successes that go along with.  Buckle up, I think we’re in for a ride!
